Two months ago the internet went into overdrive when Burger King prematurely
released a commercial featuring Mary J. Blige. Fans and critics  instantly
harped on the ESSENCE  Music Festival headliner. But Blige
tells Angie Martinez the negative  comments didn't feel good at all.

"It
just broke my heart," said Blige.  "People were just going crazy and I
understand the laughter and the jokes and  the stuff happening. That's all good.
You're supposed to do that when something  like that happens. It made people's
websites go up. It made people get more  ratings on their radio stations but the
thing that hurt me is when people  started saying vicious negative things that
didn't happen."

Blige  confesses she didn't immediately respond because
she didn't feel like she could  change anyone's opinion. "Everyone was doing
what they were doing and saying  what they were saying and I just felt that
there was no need for me to say  anything," Blige admitted. "Everyone was
running with it and just crucifying me  and going crazy. I said it's too much
going on for me to try and stick my head  out there and say anything, so i just
pulled back and I watched everyone and  everything."

Above all, through
this ordeal Blige learned who her real  friends are. "What this did was expose
everyone and everything that was in my  life and it showed me who my friends
are," said the superstar. "But so many  people reached out to me on a level of
we knew what you were trying to do. We  saw how it went terribly
wrong."

If that wasn't enough, Blige did issue  an apology to those who
hurt by the ad. "I want to apologize to everyone who was  offended who thought
that I would do something that was so disrespectful to our  culture. I would
never do anything like that. I thought I was doing something
right."

On what seemed to be the hottest day of the year, curly cuties gathered at the
Karen's Body Beautiful store in Brooklyn for a natural hair meet-up to kick off
the summer! The event was co-hosted by Myleik Teele of curlBOX and Karen
Tappin, owner of Karen's Body Beautiful,
two natural hair enthusiasts who  have touched the lives of curly girls coast to
coast through their hair care  businesses. The line swept around the block as
naturalistas awaited their chance  to pick up luxurious bath, body and hair
treatments, sip champagne and snag a  free sample pack of hair goodies. Not only
was the weather hot, but the coils,  kinks and waves we spotted were sizzling,
too!

Kyle Massey Sues
I Got Screwed Out of
Bristol
Palin's Reality Show

Former Disney star Kyle Massey claims he
and his brother Christopher CREATED a reality TV show specifically for
Bristol Palin
... only to get cut out of the project at the last minute
... this according to a new lawsuit.

In the suit, filed today in federal
court in L.A., the Massey brothers claim they met Bristol on "Dancing with the
Stars" ... and developed the idea for a show in which the brothers help Palin
meet the challenges of child rearing while adjusting to life in L.A.

In
fact, the Masseys claim they had even picked out a name for the show -- "Helping
Hands."

But according to the suit, a producer named David
McKenzie
hijacked the project, cut the Masseys out of the show and
repackaged the program as "Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp" ... which is set to
premiere tonight on Lifetime.

The Masseys are demanding monetary
compensation -- claiming they were not properly compensated or credited for
creating the show.

Bristol is not listed as a defendant in the
lawsuit.

Mike Tyson is making the popular move from the big screen to Broadway with his
one-man show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.”
The production, under the direction of Spike Lee, will play at the Longacre
Theatre for six nights only starting July 31.

According to a website for the show, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” is “a
rare, personal look inside the life and mind of one of the most feared men ever
to wear the heavyweight crown.” The site also assures ticket holders that
they’ll be treated to a “riveting one-man show [that] goes beyond the headlines,
behind-the-scenes and between the lines to deliver a must-see theatrical
knockout.”

Tyson performed the show in Vegas earlier this year, and he told CNN at the
time that “Undisputed Truth” is compiled from “the stories of my life that were
basically in the headlines,” but also “the underlining story: My relationship
with my wife, my conviction, my upbringing, the death of my mother … just who I
was as a child back  then, and who I am now.”

According to Playbill.com, “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth” was written by his
wife, Kiki Tyson, and director Randy Johnson, and shows the good and the bad of
Tyson’s history. The boxer said in a statement that to share the “highlights and
lowlights of my life with New York is especially important to me as I was born
and raised in Brooklyn.”

And according to director Lee, Tyson is a “great storyteller,” as he said in
a statement.

“Human beings want to hear stories. Whether it’s a play, a documentary … a
song, a musical, a novel or a movie, we love to hear stories,” Lee said. “And,
with Mike Tyson on stage, you are going to hear a great American story.”

Tickets for the 90-minute show, which runs July 31 through August 5, are on
sale now via Telecharge.com as well as by phone.

You’re a single guy and a woman comes along that posseses all the qualities any
man would want, she’s cute, smart, funny and has a good job. She’s perfect!!  So
what could be the problem that is making you question whether or not you should
date her? She has children. It’s normal for people to question whether of not
they should date someone, male or female, who has kids. What role do you play in
their family? How will you fit in? How will her kids affect the way your
relationship goes. What ever decision you make must be very well thought out,
because there are children involved. The only way to find out is to give it a
shot….or will you?
Here are some of the challenges you might face when dating a woman with
children. You have to think all these questions through. It’s not just you now.
Remember there are kids involved.

Do you even like kids? If you have no interest in kids
whatsoever, then how are you going to handle a relationship with a woman who has
them? You may think that the kids won’t be that big of a deal, but think again.
These kids are most likely this woman’s entire life and there is no way that you
can be in the relationship with her if you don’t like kids.

You won’t be used to this. When you start dating someone
new, it’s usually all about going out and having a good time together quite
often but when you date someone with kids, it won’t be that easy for her to
leave whenever she wants, she’ll have to find a babysitter and that isn’t
easy.

You might have to spend more money. Instead of just going on
a fun date with your girlfriend, you’ll have to bring along her children and
that can get to be expensive when you have to go to arcades, amusement parks,
the zoo, and things such as that to please the children. All your dates will not
be fun dates for just the two of you. On many occasions, if it’s anything
exciting you’ll find that the kids are right there with you the whole time.

Sexual frustrations. Imagine a situation where the mood is
right and you’re ready for sex, things start heating up and just as you’re about
to dive in, the baby starts screaming. The mood dies! Intimacy may not come as
easily as with a woman without children. It gets even more difficult when you’re
dating a stressed out single mother, with a child in the house that doesn’t like
going to bed when they are supposed to. You won’t get to have sex whenever you
want to because there will always be the kids.

THE BABY DADDY!!!! Nobody likes knowing that their children
are hanging around with someone their ex is dating. If you had children, would
you like some guy being around them all the time? I think not. It’s very
important that you think about how often you are going to hear about this guy,
see this guy and maybe even hear from him yourself. This man will always be in
this woman’s life because he’s the children’s father and there is no way around
that. Can you deal with that?

What if you become attached to the children, or the children
become attached to you? This is the most important point here. If it doesn’t
work out with you and this woman, not only do the adults get hurt, but more
importantly, the kids are devastated and that’s not what anyone wants.

There are many things you’ll need to consider before dating a woman that has
children, but I guess what it all really comes down to is.. Do you care about
her enough to put up with how much will be thrown at you? What are your
thoughts on this?
